The 27th SAVANNAH JAZZ FESTIVAL Will be held September 20th to September 28th
Savannah, Georgia is known for its commitment to the arts and the many festivals that are offered during the year. The week-long Savannah Jazz Festival, one of the largest and most popular of the Savannah festivals, is presented by the Coastal Jazz Association and is dedicated to the growth of jazz and jazz audiences in the Coastal Empire.
The 27th Savannah Jazz Festival, celebrating jazz as a living art built on a constantly evolving tradition will offer all types of jazz, from Dixieland, traditional swing, straight-ahead and bop to melodic standards, and funky down-home "gutbucket" blues. The Festival kick-off on Saturday night (Sept 20) will be a Jazz Concert-Wine Tasting event to raise money for the Backus Children's Hospital. The Ben Tucker Trio is headlining on this evening.
The festival features the best in international, national, regional and local jazz talent. The 2008 festival will feature (among others), Bob James, The Savannah Jazz Orchestra-Featuring "Simone", The Ben Riley Trio featuring 'Larry Willis', Ben Tucker Trio, Wanda Johnson with Shrimp City Slim, James Cotton, Freeport, Bob Baldwin, Eric Mintel, The Coastal Jazz Association All-Stars, The University of North Florida Jazz ensemble with Trombonist, Steve Davis, Beer Parlor Ramblers, & The Skylite Jazz Ensemble." Others will be added.

The 2008 Savannah Jazz Festival Poster commemorates two legends of Savannah, Georgia: trombonist, Teddy Adams and bassist, Ben Tucker The poster was created by the artist in residence, Ligel Lambert. Teddy Adams and Ben Tucker are two founding fathers of the Coastal Jazz Association that were instrumental in starting the Savannah Jazz Festival in the early 1980's.
The 2008 Savannah Jazz Festival posters will be offered at 24" x 36"in size. There will be three editions for the 2008 Savannah Jazz Festival commemorative poster.
The first edition will be a signed and numbered limited to only 125 posters, signed by both Mr. Adams, Mr. Tucker and Mr. Lambert. The price for this Edition will be $50.00.
The second edition is limited to 300 and will be signed and numbered by only Mr. Lambert. The Price for this edition is $30.00.
The third edition is considered an Open Edition. This edition of posters will not have any signatures and will be offered at $20.00
